Why do the Labour Council allow this to happen?

Sarah Teather MP for Brent East today visited a resident of Landau House to see for herself the state that Brent's Labour Council has left a resident's apartment in.

The local resident has been forced to share his living room for two years with a bucket that he uses to collect leaks from his ceiling. Relatives of the resident, who suffers from health problems leaving him housebound have contacted Brent Council over the past two years to complain about the problem.

However despite visits from Council engineers over the last two years little has been done to rectify the problem.

Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather is appalled at the situation of the Landau House resident and has written to Director of Housing at Brent Council, Martin Cheeseman demanding action from the Council.

Sarah Teather MP said:

"This is an appalling situation. Not only is at a massive inconvenience but the damp and mildew is a health hazard. Nobody should have to live for two years with a bucket in their living room.

"The Council must act swiftly to rectify this ludicrous situation. How can they have let this continue for so long? How many other residents in Brent are living with buckets in their living rooms, because of the Council's failure to act?"
