Why did Tony Blair and George Bush take us to war?

Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has today backed Charles Kennedy's call for an independent inquiry into the reasons why the country went to war with Iraq.

Commenting on the publication of the Hutton inquiry, Brent East MP Sarah Teather said:

"The remit of the Hutton inquiry was solely to deal with the issues surrounding Dr Kelly's death; this was only right and proper. Charles Kennedy's has called all along for a separate independent inquiry into the questions that still remain about the war in Iraq.

"We still do not know whether this country went to war under false pretences. We need an independent inquiry into the intelligence behind the reasons for the war in Iraq."
