Teather Commends Local Hospital Staff11.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 30th Jan 2004
Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather today commended the work of the staff at the Willesden Community Hospital. The Brent East MP took a tour of the local hospital with Brent Primary Care Trust Chief Executive Lise Llewellyn and Clinical Co-ordinator Anne Bowe. Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather said: "I must praise the work of the local NHS staff. Their commitment to the health care needs of local people is first class." At the meeting the Brent East MP raised issues that are frequently brought to her attention by local people. One of the issues raised by the local Liberal Democrat MP was the level of access to local GP's. Many local people have trouble booking repeat appointments with their local GP. The Brent East MP added: "I have raised a major concern of local residents, the level of access to local GP's. Many local people feel frustrated that they are not able to make a repeat appointment with their GP upto two weeks in advance. I am know that the PCT are aware of the problem and I am keen to work with them to resolve it."
