Sarah is campaigning to get Brent cleaned up

Local Liberal Democrat Sarah Teather has been appalled by a recent admission from Brent's Labour Council that cleaning up rubbish is not 'within our current priorities'. Recently Sarah Teather took up the case of dumped rubbish on Douglas Road, Kilburn which has rats nesting in it. In an official Brent Council letter the reply states "Unfortunately this matter does not fall within our current priorities..".

As the local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has campaigned tirelessly to get the streets of Brent cleaned up.

Local Liberal Democrat Sarah Teather said:

"This is an appalling admission from the Labour Council. Every year they ask local people for more and more in Council Tax and for that they cannot even keep our streets clean.

"I cannot understand how the Labour Council can accept rats swimming around in rubbish. If it is not a priority for them to get it cleaned up, it certainly is for me."
