Labour is failing homeless people says Sarah Teather MP

Responding to allegations that councils have been 'bending the law' under Government pressure to reduce the number of people classified as homeless, Liberal Democrat Local Government Spokesperson, Sarah Teather MP said: "The Government cannot keep raising the bar so that vulnerable people aren't classified as homeless, just so they don't feature in the statistics.

"Labour has a shocking record on homelessness, which has doubled since they came to power and is still rising. There are now more than 100,000 families in temporary accommodation.

"Homeless people don't need more Labour spin. They need more homes."
