Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has returned from a delegation to India praising the Swaminarayan Akshardham which is being constructed in New Delhi as a future 'wonder' of the world.

The temple due to finish construction this year will be the largest temple in the world and its opening festivities are expected to attract tens of thousands of people including Bill Clinton.

Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather said:

"The temple is already an amazing sight and it hasn't even finished being built yet. All those who have worked so hard to bring this wonderful achievement to light deserve the fullest of praise.

"When the temple is finished it will truly be a wonder of the world. I hope I will get the chance to return and when the temple is open and witness its magnificence once again."
