Responding today to the Home Office's announcement that it would remove the English language requirement from the immigration rules for non-preaching Ministers of Religion, Sarah Teather, MP for Brent East, said:

"I wholeheartedly welcome this u-turn. It's taken nearly two years to change the Home Office's mind but I'm glad they've finally done the right thing.

"I've been backing this campaign all the way, and would like to pay tribute to all the hard work put in by the Willesden Lane and Neasden temples and the wider Hindu community. Their efforts were crucial to our success."
