Brent's Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather was guest of honour at the newly refurbished Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Brent.
The Institute was established over 25 years ago and has a reputation as a leading school of contemporary music, specialising in teaching guitar, bass, drums and vocals.
Popular British stars such a Beverley Knight, Katie Melua and Babyshambles are all associated with the institute, and students from all backgrounds have access to the facility via a fully-funded BTEC diploma or degree course.
Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:
"I am so proud to have an organisation of international prestige on our doorstep. Many famous and respected musicians have their roots right here in Brent.
"So many young people have dreams of making it in the music industry and this is the type of place that makes those dreams come true. It's really fantastic that this highly regarded school is available to the next generation of Brent musicians."
