Sarah Joins Brent Diwali Procession

Local MP Sarah Teather celebrates Diwali every year with her constituents

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather joined her constituents to celebrate Diwali on Ealing Road on Saturday.

Sarah was just one of 60,000 people who joined the procession through the streets of Wembley to a firework display in Barham Park.

Diwali is one of the most important celebrations for Hindus. The festival celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"Diwali is an important festival that brings great joy to many people in Brent. It was wonderful to see so many people joining in these spectacular celebrations.

"At a time when so many people are struggling, it is particularly important to remember what is good in the world, to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and to focus on the happy times that surely lie ahead.

"I would like to send my very warmest greetings to all those celebrating Diwali in Brent, with a wish for a peaceful, healthy and successful year ahead."
